AY. scent & design（以下、AYSD）は、信州・松本を拠点に、香りの空間デザイン、オリジナル商品の企画制作、ワークショップ運営、関連商品販売を行う香りとデザインのスタジオです。
ホテル・ショップ・ギャラリー・住宅などへ、信州・国産精油と地域素材を活かした
香りの導入・運用を提供しています。
AY. scent & design (AYSD) is a scent and design studio based in Matsumoto, Shinshu (Nagano, Japan). We create and deliver spatial scent designs, original products, workshops, and related goods, introducing the scents of Shinshu through local materials and Japanese essential oils
for hotels, shops, galleries, and homes.

We see scent as a subtle form of design — invisible yet deeply felt.
As a Shinshu-born lifestyle brand, we connect local materials, people, and culture, designing with scent to gently accompany emotion and bring quiet balance to everyday life.
Story
香りが、私を原点に戻す。
幼い頃、祖母が暮らす木曽で感じた木々の香りや、
焚き火の香ばしい煙の香りは今も心に残っています。そして、出張先で触れたホテルの香りが記憶に残り、
今でも心を支える力があることを知りました。
私は香りをいつも必要としているわけではありませんが、
節目ごとにその力を求めている自分に気づいたのです。
――香りには、人の心を静かに整える力がある。
その力を暮らしの中に静かに広げていきたい。
それが、AYSD のはじまりです。
Scent brings me back to my origin.
The gentle scent of trees and the warm, smoky aroma of bonfires I experienced as a child in Kiso, where my grandmother lived, still lingers in my heart.
Later, the fragrance I encountered in hotels during business trips stayed in my memory — and I realized that scent has the quiet power to comfort and sustain the heart, even over time.
I don’t always seek scent in my daily life,
but I’ve come to notice that at each turning point, I find myself reaching for its strength.
— Scent has the power to quietly bring balance to the heart.
I wish to share that quiet strength within everyday life.
That is how AY. scent & design began.

山田 暁子
松本市在住。千葉県生まれ。埼玉、ヨーロッパ、東京で育つ。長年にわたりグローバル企業での勤務を経て、コロナ禍をきっかけに長野県松本市へ移住。これまで温めていた独自のアイデアを、香りと空間で表現することを決意し、現在に至る。
幼少期には長野県での長期滞在経験が多く、他方で海外での生活や出張、旅行を重ねてきた。海外でしか味わえない香りや空間、そして日本ならではの香りと空間。その対比から生まれる独自の世界観を基に、香りとデザインが静かに調和するブランドづくりに取り組んでいる。

Akiko Yamada Scent Designer
Based in Matsumoto, Nagano.
Born in Chiba and raised in Saitama, Europe, and Tokyo.
After many years working for global companies, I relocated to Matsumoto during the pandemic,
deciding to bring long-held ideas to life through scent and spatial design.
Having spent extended periods in Nagano as a child, and later living, working, and traveling abroad,
I experienced both the scents and spaces unique to Japan and those found overseas.
From that contrast emerged a personal worldview — one that now guides my creation of a brand
where scent and design quietly exist in harmony.
